Off I Go

Hey there!
How is everybody? Me? I'm doing great. I miss my parents who are on vacation very much, and there's literally nobody home, but I, myself, am flying out tonight with my friends on a delegation. Yes, I know it's been about two months only since my last time ad that these are crazy a splurges, but that's why I'm not yet learning to drive. I find that I care about opportunities like these more than I care about driving as of now.
I'm packed already with the fines of my winters clothes that have been praying to break out of their dusty spots in my closet. It has even started raining outside which is just lovely.
Last night we went to a party. It was loads of fun we found a 100 bill so we could pay for the way back home with it which was awesome. We danced until our backs and feet were throbbing. A few of my new guy friends danced with us, and this made me really glad that I gave up trying to fit in with another group of guy friends last year. This seems to be the right choice as they wouldn't even say hi to me yesterday and the new group were so sweet and danced with us and stuff. This goes to show how much I've changed in order to be myself.
The guy I've told you about a few posts back then tries to say hi to me exactly when I turned around which then resulted in me seeming like I didn't want to say hi to him which we all know couldn't be more false, and he pretended to be offended which I, then, didn't know why. That is until my friend told me what had just happened. On one hand I feel bad for not saying hi. On the other hand it feels really good to know he noticed me more than he had noticed any one of the other girls. On the very last hand, though, he was drunk I'm afraid. Now I am not delusive. I know that most guys these days drink and smoke. He doesn't smoke which is already an up side, but I still am hoping to find someone who's both attractive to me, yet doesn't fool around with these things which to me seem absolutely (haha name of alcoholic beverage) pointless and stupid but who am I to judge. I haven't yet come close to even kiss a guy because I'm so idealistic, a fact of which I'm proud of at times, but also prevented me this far from having a romantic relationship with someone who's really attractive to me.
Here's the big fight I have with myself basically every day. Should I give up my far high standards and maybe get to be with a guy who I'm attracted to or should I fight for my morals so I don't regret giving them up, but feel like maybe I've missed out on being with someone that's really great. As of now, sticking with my morals has been picked over and over considering I'm a big fat fried chicken so even if I gave up my morals I probably wouldn't have done anything as well as seeing that if I gave up my morals I really wouldn't bid someone that great. To be great he has to withstand my standards.
Hope this wasn't too much of a blabber. Talk to you as soon as I get back.
XOXO Roni J.

I'm Sorry (OOTD)

Hello girls.
I'm guessing the most of us have absolutely no idea about the topic I picked for today, but we had a talk about it at dinner yesterday, and I thought it's something amazing that we don't get exposed to much in our everyday life.
While sitting at dinner my friend's sister said that today she will be fasting. I thought it was quite strange and we asked her why. She said that today is "Yom Kippur", which is a Jewish holiday, and that she thinks it's quite an important thing to do. Now, this girl is not Jewish at all, and I've know her for my entire life. I didn't know much about the holiday so she explained it to me. She said "Yom Kippur" in the Jewish tradition is a day where we ask forgiveness of God and of all the people we've hurt along the year for all our sins, and our wrong doings. It's a day for self reflection and inspection.
I was still intrigued to know how come she, of all none-believers, decided to fast during that day, and her answer was "I thought that stopping for a whole day once a year and self reflecting upon our mistakes and upon the pain we've caused other people is important no matter what you believe in", and I was absolutely blown away by the question. I decided to take it to heart and do the same. So for a whole 24 hours I will fast today, not just to ask my God for forgiveness, which I think is quite important at times, but in order to self reflect about all of the things I didn't do right with the people in my life. And so today I fast for all the times I made my friends feel uncomfortable about themselves or about their boyfriends, for all the times I was not thankful enough to the beautiful family that I have and for every time any person was hurt by me this year. I think if not fasting, we should at least all have a day where we stop what we're doing, and think back to the year we've had and ask forgiveness of the people whom we've hurt.
By the way as you might see from the background of the pictures I've started playing the guitar again after almost two years. Cannot express in words how much I've missed it. Such a relief to be playing again.
Now here's the outfit of the day :)
The pants are my beloved Zara pants I bought last summer, and they seriously must be my favorite pair of all times.
My top is a denim top from a local boutique, and I love it as well.
My necklace is from Forever 21, and I bought it yesterday meaning there's a haul on the way!!! It looks like a paper bird, and I fell in love with it immediately. It is BEAUTIIIFULL!
My bag I think is also from Zara and the sandals are from American Eagle, but they are my friend's, and not mine... Oopssiee.

Hope you all have a great day, and that you do some self reflecting soon, as well as my hope that you will be able to forgive others, because sometimes it is just as hard.
XOXO Roni J.

Fashion Tips For Shorties And Petites

Hello hello pretty girls.
Today is my second chapter in a little segment I will be doing in the near future, which I started with this post in case you need more information about it. This segment will talk about different body types and how to dress them in order to create a better looking figure. These tips are in no way obligatory, and if this might offend you under any circumstances you can just click it off or comment to suggest a better way to do it.
I am personally quite tall, but I find that my friends, most of which are short oddly enough, find it hard to dress their figure without making themselves look condensed. I mean they might be as skinny as a stick, but there are things that make them look even shorter, and even make them look fuller than they are.
Here are my basic few tips:
*If you are under the petite regulations (usually 1.60 meters tall or 5'3'' feet tall or under) it might be really good for you to shop at the petite section in stores. It basically means that you accept who you are, and it is designed for you. I mean some women who are pear shaped would die to have an pear shape section in their stores to help them shop for their figure, so why wouldn't you be happy about it and embrace it? It is made for your comfort and for your good. I know that many stores carry the same things in petite section as they carry in the regular section, but differ them slightly in order to make them fit petites better.

*Wear your body with pride! This goes for every girl, but especially the shorter ones among us. If you walk all bent over and hunched, you make yourself look even shorter than you are. Stride with pride, my friend. Help people see you the way you want to be seen.
*Wear skinny fit when you choose your pants/jeans. Skinny fit elongates your legs making you look longer over all.

*Wear cropped pants. Yet again these make your legs appear longer and help you look over all longer.

* Wear heels and platforms, because they, obviously, add more more height, but more specifically nude heels or platforms that are similar to your skin tone. That way they appear to be kind of a part of a longer looking leg. Same thing works with black tights and black heels or platforms, especially since black is a slimming color that would make your legs look infinite. For example take Rachel Bilson, who's one of my fashion icons. Look how much longer her legs look with the nude heels.

*Wear high waisted pants. They generally create the illusion of longer legs. That is as long as your torso is not really short, because that might make you look out of proportions.

Hope this helps <3 Write some comments for other ideas! XOXO Roni J.

Toxic

Hello girls and boys(?)!
How are we today. Feeling extremely attracted to this guy and wondering whether this year is a year to change, and take a chance to try to have something, some type of relationship or what not with this guy.
The problem is... I get sooo nervous. I know this sounds cheesy, but I'm a nervous wreck around boys even if I don't show it to the world. I look cold, people think I'm a snob, but in all honesty I just hate looking weak. I hate being defenseless. I was kind of hoping for God to make some kind of magical trick, something like a wave of the wand that would make this attractive guy come into my life, and sweep me off my feet and put me off balance, but, seeing as things don't work that way for me, I think I might just have to find some attractive guy myself and put myself off that comfortable balance I have been on forever.
The thing is...... He stresses me out. I feel a certain discomfort around him, and.... I hate that feeling all the while I absolutely love it. His smile is addictive, quite toxic to be exact. He is sweet, and, although he has never clearly stated what he think about me, he keeps saying  that I'm perfect for some unclear reason.
On one hand, if he really thinks I am, then I might have a chance at it. On the other hand, though, if he thinks I am so perfect... It would be like puncturing his bubble. He gets to know me, and then realizes I am everything BUT perfect. And then again there's the chance that he does not mean it at all, which means he's either sarcastic or says things like that to girls on a regular basis in order to get them laid or whatever. Possible.
What do you think I should do? Is it time that I let go of my beloved balanced life in order to take a risk that might be the best thing I've ever done? Is it just a trick he's playing?

Outfit of Friday I think:  The dress is a dog print dress I got while in China. Yes, my hair is ombred. My shoes are the loafers my mother got me. Sunglasses are inspired by John Lennon from China, and I love them. The dress is too short on me, because I am a few inches taller than the average chinese woman so I put a body con skirt underneath so that if I bend over or sit I won't be showing my business to everybody that's out there.

Love you girls a lot. Take time to read the previous post, it would mean a lot to me. XOXO Roni J.

Ronan

Hey girls.
Today I was about to write to you about all the drama I've experienced on Saturday, but yesterday I hear Taylor Swift's new song called Ronan, and decided I want to write about it more.
It was the first I had heard it last night. I got home after a big family dinner, and I sat down at the computer, and saw OhhmyAnnie's cover of it in my subscription box, and before I even heard the cover I looked it up, and decided to listen to the original. I love Taylor Swift, because her songs are so relatable, and they move me. I am that kind of person that the lyrics matter more in my opinion than the beat or melody. Taylor has those kinds of songs.
I listened to a version that explained the story behind the song and had the lyrics at the bottom. I read the story and then progressed to listening to the song while reading the lyrics. I can honestly say that I cried big time.
I am very much a person that doesn't cry much about their own pain, but when I see someone else cry, I tear up like crazy. I cry in movies, books, songs. I cry when I see someone else crying. Other people's pain is more painful to me for some reason.
Anyways, going back to the song, the song is talking about a four year old boy named Ronan that died of cancer a few years ago. Taylor saw his story somewhere on his mom's blog or something and teamed up with his mother to create this beautiful, emotional song in the memory of this beautiful little boy.
I would like it very much if you guys could read through the lyrics while listening to the song:
I remember your bare feet down the hallway
I remember your little laugh
Race cars on the kitchen floor
Plastic dinosaurs, I love you to the moon and back

I remember your blue eyes looking into mine like we had our own
secret club
I remember you dancing before bed time then jumping on me waking
me up
I can still feel you hold my hand
Little man, from even that moment I knew
You fought it hard like an army guy
Remember I leaned in and whispered to you

Chorus:
Come on baby with me
We're gonna fly away from here
You were my best four years

I remember the drive home when the blind hope
Turned to crying and screaming, "Why?"
Flowers piled up in the worst way
No one knows what to say about a beautiful boy who died

And it's about to be Halloween
You could be anything you wanted if you were still here
[| From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/t/taylor-swift-lyrics/ronan-lyrics.html |]
I remember the last day when I kissed your face
I whispered in your ear

Come on baby with me
We're gonna fly away from here
Out of this curtained room in this hospital
We'll just disappear
Come on baby with me
We're gonna fly away from here
You were my best four years

What if I'm standing in your closet trying to talk to you?
What if I kept the hand me downs you won't grow into?
And what if I really thought some miracle would see us through?
But what if the miracle was even getting one moment with you

Come on baby with me
We're gonna fly away from here
Come on baby with me
We're gonna fly away from here
You were my best four years

I remember your bare feet down the hallway
I love you to the moon and back

I would like to dedicate this post to all the families battling this horrid illness together, to all the little boys and girls that have to grow up in one moment and hold their family together even if they're struggling, to all the mothers and fathers that have to put on a brave face and make what could be their kids' first and last years on earth amazing. We are all here for you and wish we had a cure for your biggest pain.
Be compassionate and loving to one another, and try, some times, at least, to look outside of the bubble we all create for ourselves, and take time to do something for other people.
RIP to all the Ronans out there, and great strength to their loving families.
Love very much, XOXO Roni J.

The Crown Jewel (Trend Allert! Chapter1)

Hey girls,
today I have a beauty trend for the fall and winter. This trend comes around almost every cold season, and to be honest, there are times when it's beautiful, but there are times when it's simply too much.
The trend is jewel tones. Jewel tones worn on nails, lips, and eyes. Let's take a closer look at this trend.
So, what are jewel tones? They are, quite obviously, shades inspired by certain jewels or gems found in nature- hence they are quite natural toned down colors. There are many shades on the blue turquoise green range that go hand in hand with Emerald, Turquoise, and Lapis, many red warm burgundy shades that resemble Jasper and Ruby, and some really neutral nude-ish colors like Quartz, Moss Agate, and Rose Quartz, as well as some more purple tones like Sugilite, Lace Agate, and Amethyst. Basically a variety of shades that are either really deep, or really light and toned down.
For all the recommendations below there are plenty of dupes that you can find in different qualities and price ranges.Try and look through you collection to see if you can find something to match the trend first to see if you even like the colors.
In nails:
Lace Agate shade- China Glaze's Secret Peri-Wink-Le. To make it look even more jewel inspired you can top it with a metallic white or champagne shade.
Amethyst shade- Dutch You Love OPI by, surprisingly enough, OPI. I love the entire collection, but this is a nice deep purple shade for autumn.
Jasper shade- Knees Up by Butter London. This is a really cute Christmas-y red color that's great for winter and fall.
Emerald shade- Stylenomics by Essie. Beautiful deep crisp green. Kind of Christmasy as well.
Tiger's Eye shade- The "It" Color by OPI. A mustard color that reminds me of fallen leaves.
Ruby shade- Illamasqua's Vice. It is a deep cranberry shade that is so girly and festive.
Quartz/Pyrite shade- Thrustafarian by Butter London. This shade is gorgeous. It's a sage green shimmery color. Very neutral and matches everything.

Sugilite shade- Nails inc.'s Houses of Parliament magnetic polish. The effect makes it look very similar, and is all over very cool.

Turquoise shade- Go On Green by OPI. Great shade for fall, spring and summer. Love it.

Rose Quartz shade- oddly enough I couldn't find something that's similar enough, but this color is an over all great color for this fall, and even for French manicure. This is Don't Pretzel My Button by OPI.

Lips: in lips the color variation is still limited for jewel tones, but they can still be played out.

Rose Quartz-Coconutty by MAC. It is beautiful in the tube, but since I have never personally tried it I fear that it might be a bit of a mature color. Try it out first, if you consider the purchase.

Ruby shade- Ruby Woo by MAC. I love this color and I think it matches a lot of different skin tones. Very appropriate name, as well.

Jasper shade- Russian Red by MAC. A very very deep red. Deeper than Ruby Woo, and more blue toned I would think.

Carnelian shade- Soul Mate by Sephora, which is a cranberry color that looks absolutely gorgeous for a vampy lip.

Amethyst shade- Voluptuous Violet by Clinique. Gorgeous purple.

Sugilite shade- Embrace by Covergirl. Looks absolutely divine!

Eyes: There are infinite choices. Really, you could go for a plum colored or Turquoise colored mascara or eyeliner. Here are a few options.
Purple shade- Kate Von D's Sinner pallete.

Overall jewel shades- Smashbox's Trio in Oyster, Zoom, and Royal

Thought a Jewel song would be a fitting theme. Have a great week :D XOXO Roni J.

Life's Good (August Favorites)

Hello there ladies. How have you been?
Please check out my last post about the new segment I am hoping to do in the next few weeks to two months. I really am planning to put a lot of effort into it, and I would love it if you guys commented, and shared your ideas and thoughts!
I've had some really good days being back at school. My focus level is higher considering I have no meaningless boy drama in my life, I have been complimented by many guys (one of them even said I was perfect. Hmm....), I have had a pretty intricate social life, in a good way that is, and my sister is happy, which makes me the happiest, and everybody is healthy thank goodness. Life is good when you know how to appreciate it.
I have been so freaking late to do this, but I am still doing it. AUGUST FAVORITES!!!
I have very little favorites for this month for some reason, but what can I do.
#1 A pair of shoes my mother got me. They are black suede loafers by the brand Rubi (which I don't know a thing about, so, if you do, please, tell me in the comments), and I am wearing them to death. I've worn them so much that I have a tan line. It's bad. I really needed black shoes, because all of mine got ruined at the same time for some reason, and because I mostly wear things that go with black shoes. My mother knows me so well <3
#2 My fake Tory Birch purse. It's nude, and can be turned into a clutch by removing it's straps, which is very convenient. It matches everything, It holds exactly the amount of things that I need for a night out, and it looks even better than the things Tory Birch has currently. Oh, and it cost me nothing, because it's fake and it's from China.
# My beloved Midnight Pomegranate body splash from Bath and Body Works, which I have been wearing ever since... 7th grade maybe, which makes it my favorite scent in the past 5 years almost. Flip! That is a LOT of time! It is such a sexy scent, it is sweet, fruity and musky, but not too sweet like some Victoria's Secret's scents, which, personally, I really dislike. Recommend it a bunch!
#My mama's food. After having eaten so much in China, and when my mother flew to see my sister, I have honestly missed her cooking so so much.

And, as usual, a song for a great month: Maybe I Love You by Lenka. XOXO Roni J.

Body Language

Hello hello girls and boys (again, are there any boys in the crowd? If so, please, say aye!).
How are we doing today? Me? I'm great, but this is not what I came here to talk about.
Today I'm starting a series, or a segment, if you may. This series will be every week (hopefully. I'll try as much as I can), and will teach you all you have to know about body types, your specific body type, and how to style it. There will be eight posts related to this, including today's, and, if this works out well, then I might do segments similar to this.
The eight posts and each of their meanings are:
1) Today- Body Language- The full encyclopedia for body types.
2) Fashion Tips For Shorties And Petites- This one is kind of self explanatory. Petites are generally women or girls that are around 1.60 meters tall or 5'3'' feet tall. This post will deal with how to dress a shorter body type to elongate it. Obviously, if you feel like the way you're dressing is fine, this is by no means going to be criticism of the way you dress, and therefore no need to get offended. This obviously can go for taller girls who feel short, and for shorter girls.
3) Fashion Ideas For Tall Ladies- Again, pretty self explanatory. This goes mostly for girls that are 1.74 meters or 5'8'' and a half feet tall. This is for the tall girls that find it hard to wear things because they look abnormally big (happens a lot to this girl right here).

Now here are some more general body types:
Some things to help you understand:
a. The analogies. They just explain the shapes best in my opinion.
b. Think of this kids' toy. Build your body using it's rings. Make an exaggerated form of your body, because, obviously, your proportions probably won't match perfectly. Think where the slimmest part of your body is and the most full part of your body, and slowly, but carefully, make your figure out of it. No, there's no need to buy this toy. If you don't have it at home, just imagine yourself stacking the rings on top of each other or draw it using some different colored markers.

4) Fashion Help: The Apple Of My Eye: fashion tips for girls who are apple shaped. Apple shaped women are usually more round all around. Larger mid section (breasts and tummy), broader shoulders the hips, flatter bums, and fairly slim legs. When thinking about the toy, think about the purple being the bottom or the stack, or the legs in other words. Then, going upwards, blue, green, orange, red and then yellow.
5)  Fashion Help: Pear Up. This post will talk about women that are pear shaped. Pear shaped women usually have a bigger round bum, and most of the weight tends to sit there or on the hips. The hips are wider and broader than the chest. Speaking in the toy terms this mean that on bottom of the stack will be orange, the red, then yellow, blue, green, and purple.

6) Fashion Help: Straight Out. This talks about the girls that are quite skinny, and there shoulders are about the same width as their waist, and as their hips. On the toy it would basically be the green all the way up. These girls' bodies look a little rectangle-like

7) Fashion Help: The Chip On Your Shoulder. This is for all the girls who have a little bit more of a boyish figure, meaning wider shoulders, and a bit of an upside down triangle shape overall. Imagine flipping the toy's rings from top to bottom: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.

8) Fashion Help: The Hourglass Lucky Charm. This goes to the lucky butt girls out there who's body goes like what supposedly all women need to look like. Needless to say that rarely do women look like this at all, and that the way you look is great, and you don't need to feel bad about your figure even if you're not the hourglass. Their bodies are like green yellow green blue green yellow.

Hope we'll have some fun with it with this segment! <3 XOXO Roni j.
