Free Style- The Style of Freedom!

Spring is coming faster and faster, creeping upon us without us even noticing it is knocking on our door. Spring's a good season to start daring, to make new choices in every department, to look for new things we truly love, and to "Do What Feels Good", as many smarted people have said well before me.
I am personally loving this spring's new and old trends. From metallics to colorblocking, from florals to Aztec print let's not even skip one. And if I am missing a spring trend that you personally love and want people to know all about you're welcome to write it in the comments below and make us all more knowledgeable!- Seriously, I would appreciate it!
So here is the list:
1. Continuing on from the winter the trend of metallics, which I personally adore, is following us into spring. Brushed metal, gold, silver, rose gold or really any metallic color work!
2. Gladiators, strappy sandals, make me happy to look at!
Here's a shoe that combines both metallics and gladiators:

3. Now, let's head into the one trend that no other trend says summer like. The FLORALS! One of my personal favorites that will probably never go out of style for this season!
4. Another beautiful yet a little revealing trend is the cropped tops. It took me a while to get used to them and still I don't wear them if they show too much skin but if you're comfortable with showing skin then I say YOU GO GIRL!
Here's a top that combines them both:

5. A trend so trendy every year is the OH SO FAMOUS DRESSES that, I, personally missed wearing during the cold wet months. Obviously this won't ever go away thank the dear fashion police.
6. A trend that, correct me if I'm wrong, came in last summer, and is still up and running is colorblocking. Spring's best feature is colors. Why not play it off?
7. The best hemline there ever was is the high-low hemline. Much like a mullet except reverted is the party mini in the front and business midi in the back!
Here's A dress that combines all three:

6. Crazy patterns are always and will always be in my favorites! They are so versatile and make any outfit special!
7. Button ups that are sheer are coming into spring with us as they are light and airy and fit even the hottest and most humid times of day!
8. Another trend that I've come to love is the collars trend, and especially the Peter Pan collar!
Here's a Peter Pan collared shirt that's sheer and has a crazy flamingo pattern!:

9. Shorts are a must-have item in the summer wardrobe. Especially light washed denim shorts and crazy, eye-catching short.
10. Light denim anything is my love for summer. Denim is such a light material that in the winter it might be even a little too cold to wear, but here comes the sun.
11. Me love me some high waisted pants. They suck in the stomach and make you appear longer (which in my case is not at all needed but is still accepted).
12. Lace is also very popular lately. Such a feminine fabric that makes anything look more dressy, and sexy.
Here are the lacy high waisted shorts:        Here are high waisted light washed shorts:
Here are some crazy pants ;) :

I have basically run out of ideas although I'm a 100% sure there are far more trends than I can come up with. If you think of anything, leave it in the comments below!
Adore you guys!
'Cause here comes the sun and I say: "It's all right"

Smells Like Spring

Hey there fashionistas!
Spring has always been a time for renewal. Since Ancient Greece and Rome, and well before, in all the mythologies and legends, and in almost all the cultures, spring is time for starting out fresh, for new beginnings.
If you haven't yet encountered the Greek mythology and all it's fabulous stories I recommend you to start as soon as possible. To me the mythology is so magical and beautiful, and I love every story it has to offer. One story that always stood out to me, and will always come to mind first when speaking of mythology is the story of Persephone.
Please don't let me spoil the story for you, please read it, and don't just read my summary. The story of Persephone basically tells about how the seasons came to be. Persephone's mother is Demeter, the goddess of harvest, and she loves Persephone so dearly, so once Hades, the god-king of the underworld abducts her, her mother, naturally, becomes very sad, and stops doing her job and taking care of the harvest. Hades makes her eat a pomegranate that makes it impossible for her to leave the underworld.  Long story short, Persephone is only allowed to see her mother for a certain period of time every year, which makes Demeter very happy, and helps her keep going. But after that period is over Persephone goes back to the underworld to Hades, her husband, and Demeter goes back to being sad and blue. Whenever Demeter is happy, whenever Persephone is around, the flowers start flourishing, the birds start singing, and the sun is shining, which have become spring and summer. Yet, whenever Persephone's gone back to the underworld, her mother becomes depressed and stops working once again, the sky starts crying, and no harvest succeeds in growing. This is the all-too-well-known winter.
I have decided to start a new page this spring. Mainly in the heartache area, I have been much too much sad and depressed and heartbroken over a guy that makes me feel lousy and doesn't even have the tiniest clue that I feel this way about him. Much like Demeter, though in a very different way, I have been down and gloomy for a whole period of time now, something that sums up to be 10 whole months wasted on a guy that I can't bother with having feelings for anymore.
And on that same (top) note, since spring is coming soon and we all are looking for something new to make us feel special, I decided to stop trying to look for it in a guy. I have decided to look for it in beautiful smelling things that will make me feel good from the inside out. I've reached the decision that a good perfume, unlike a man, never fails to make me feel better and these are my spring favorites:
1. Probably also Hades' favorite, Midnight Pomegranate by Bath and Body Works. As the name suggests this perfume is more of a nighttime wear since it's pretty sweet and heavy.
Here's the link if you want to look at it on the site.
And here's the description:
For this fiery fruit and spice blend, inspired by juicy pomegranates sparkling like rubies in moonlight, master perfumers rounded out red pomegranate with anise, patchouli, blackberry, and cassis.
  • Spray on to pulse points, and enjoy this exclusive, enticing fragrance
  • With a higher concentration of fragrance oils, our Eau de Toilette gives you a more intense, longer-lasting fragrance experience than Fragrance Mist
  • Fragrance Top Notes: Pomegranate, Sparkling Citrus, Dewberry, Anise, Cinnamon, Nutmeg
  • Fragrance Mid Notes: Cassis, Blackberry, Iris, Jasmine, Raspberry
  • Fragrance Base Notes: Musk, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Tobacco, Patchouli
2.  Next is a perfume so famous people are probably SICK of hearing about it, but trust me it's worth it. It's  DKNY's Be Delicious! Can be worn either in the morning or in the nighttime!
Here's the link to the site.
and the description:
A refreshing scent in an iconic apple-shaped bottle tempts you to take a bite out of life. A sophisticated blend of apples, exotic flowers and woods creates a fresh, juicy scent that can only be called delicious.

3. Next is a Perfume that smells so good and looks so pretty that you will feel like a high society woman just by holding it. It is Versache's Bright Crystal. More of a day scent in my opinion.
Here's the link!
Described as:
Sheer sensuality, crystal transparency, and luminous brightness: Versace introduces the new Bright Crystal, a precious jewel of rare beauty characterized by a fresh, vibrant, flowery scent.

 4. A perfume that smells so good that no sweat from the hot sunny days can interfere: Abercrombie and Fitch's 8 and it is perfect for any time of day or the year really!
The link to the site.
Described as :
8's scent is full of zest. Its spicy floral fragrance is warm, invigorating, and completely exciting. Both casual and provocative, it's the perfect warm and inviting scent for day or night.

Hope you got a wide enough range of scents of all sorts that suit a different time of day and budget! I also hope we have a lovely spring full of exciting new things to come our way!
XOXO Roni J.
And here's an amazing song by the lovely Kina Grannis.

I'm Like a Bird

There's a little something not many people know about me. I'm like a bird.

Much like my taste in fashion that tends to change faster than the seasons, my taste in men, or shall I say guys, changes as fast as the girl in Katy Perry's Hot N Cold changes clothes.
I know this is a fashion blog and all, but in order to really understand what is going on in my crazy thing that God stuffed my head with, called mind, you really have to know a few things about me. Rule number one about me is that I am much like a bird.
The more you try to cage me up, the sooner I'll fly away.
I think most people don't realize this because I'm quite a friendly girl. I adore people and enjoy being around them. It's just that... I can't stand the feeling of someone holding onto my wings. It chokes me; makes me impossible to stand, as my squeaks for freedom tend to be quite vicious.
Furthermore in my comparison to a bird I have basically been the ugly duckling all my life. It's only recently that I have gotten myself to understand that I'm more of a swan.
If people ever tell you that you're ugly, get the duck (see how I'm keeping up with the bird theme here ;) ) away from them. They are not worth you thinking that you are not beautiful. Trust me here, if I can say about myself that I'm beautiful just the way I am, even though I have my imperfections, and maybe even more so because of my imperfections, then you are, too.
Sometimes I still get reminded of that low point in my life where I didn't feel so amazing about the way I look, and I know we all get those moments. If you ever do, remember that everyone goes through this in their life. I mean, even my sister, probably the most beautiful girl I've yet to meet, has so many insecurities that it's quite sad.
Now, for the outfit of the day:
Sweater is from the men's section in the Gap (my brother's).
Jeans are acid washed jeans from Topshop.
Rings: connector ring from a local boutique, regular silver is from my best friend and silver combined with gold is my Mom's old ring.
Bracelet is from that same boutique the connector ring is from.
Shoes: combat boots from another local boutique, but you can find the same style anywhere.
Scarf is my friend's scarf that I took today by mistake (yeah right).
Lipstick of the day is So Chaud by MAC which is going to be in many OOTD's not only since I love it, and since it is such a spring-type color (yay spring), but also since it's probably the only one I own as of now.
Don't forget to let your inner swan shine!
